Description
Za’atar Manakish is a traditional Levantine flatbread topped with a mixture of za’atar spice and olive oil.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup za’atar spice
Instructions
- Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into flat rounds.
- Spread the za’atar mixture on top of the dough.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
- Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat in the oven for best results.
- Can add cheese for a richer flavor.
