Description
A delicious Vietnamese dish made from fish and spices, shaped into cakes and usually served with dipping sauce.
Ingredients

- 500g white fish fillets
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (cilantro or mint)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the fish fillets and pat dry.
- In a bowl, mix fish, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, and cornstarch.
- Add chopped spring onions and herbs, mix well.
- Shape the mixture into small cakes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the fish cakes until golden brown on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- Serve with dipping sauce made from fish sauce, lime juice, and chili.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
- Use any firm white fish.
