Ingredients

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add flour, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in milk and cream. Cook until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Add cooked macaroni and mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- You can use any cheese you prefer.
- For added flavor, mix in cooked bacon or vegetables.
