Description
These dark chocolate cupcakes glow under blacklight. You use tonic water in the frosting to create the effect.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 0.33 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup softened butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons tonic water
- Neon food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla.
- Stir until the batter is smooth.
- Fill liners two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Cool the cupcakes completely.
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, and tonic water together.
- Add food coloring to the frosting.
- Frost your cooled cupcakes.
Notes
- Tonic water contains quinine which glows under UV light.
- Use a blacklight to see the glow.
- Store cupcakes in an airtight container.
