Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 green onions sliced

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Remove the excess grease from the pan.
  3. Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery to the beef.
  4. Sauté the vegetables for five minutes until they soften.
  5. Mix in the garlic and Cajun seasoning.
  6. Add the rice and pour in the beef broth.
  7. Bring the liquid to a boil.
  8. Cover the pan and lower the heat to low.
  9. Simmer for 20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
