Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies (slit)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  5. Add soaked chickpeas and stir well.
  6. Add all spices and mix thoroughly.
  7. Add 2 cups of water, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with rice or naan.
  • Adjust spices according to your taste.
  • Can add lemon juice for extra tanginess.
