Description

Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling made from rice flour and filled with a mixture of coconut and jaggery.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pan and add ghee.
  2. Add rice flour and mix well to form a dough.
  3. In another pan, melt jaggery with grated coconut and cardamom powder.
  4. Take small portions of dough and shape them into cups.
  5. Fill the cups with coconut mixture and seal them.
  6. Steam the dumplings for about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.

  • You can use sugar instead of jaggery if preferred.
