Description
A flavorful Middle Eastern rice dish with dried fruits and nuts.
Ingredients

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup mixed dried fruits (apricots, raisins, dates)
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios, walnuts)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden.
- Add dried fruits and nuts. Stir for 2-3 minutes.
- Add rice and cinnamon, mixing well.
- Pour in water and add salt. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
- Fluff rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of dried fruit based on your preference.
- Use vegetable broth instead of water for added flavor.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
