A flavorful and aromatic rice dish made with halal chicken, spices, and herbs.
Ingredients

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 lb halal chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons biryani masala
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2–3 green chilies, slit
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot and fry the onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for a minute.
- Add chicken pieces, tomatoes, and salt. Cook until chicken is browned.
- Stir in yogurt and biryani masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Add soaked rice and reduce heat. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use good quality basmati rice for best results.
- Adjust spice levels according to your taste.
- Garnish with fried onions and boiled eggs if desired.
