Description
This dish blends ground beef and shrimp with seasoned rice. It uses classic Cajun flavors for a hearty meal.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 cups long grain white rice
- 1 onion diced
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 2 stalks celery diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in onion bell pepper and celery.
- Cook vegetables until soft.
- Add garlic and Cajun seasoning.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Stir in rice and reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Place shrimp on top of rice.
- Cover and cook for 5 more minutes until shrimp are pink.
- Fluff with a fork and serve.
Notes
- Use low sodium broth to control salt levels.
- Swap white rice for brown rice but increase the cook time.
- Add cayenne pepper if you want more heat.
